Follow the Taupo Volcanic Zone north past the massive fissures of Mount Tarawera to New Zealand’s only active marine volcano located 50 kilometres off the coast of the Bay of Plenty. Take a look from above into the active crater and remains of old sulphur mines. Return to Taupo via the Lakes of Rotorua, Rotorua City and Orakei Korako geothermal area. We offer you the option of a landing to take a walk around the silica terraces, steaming geysers and boiling mud pools of Orakei Korako before continuing back to Taupo.
