This full day starts with a flight over the summit of Mt Ruapehu, the highest and most recently active volcano in New Zealand, and the smaller volcanos of Tongariro National Park. Heading North East you will get views of Mt Tarawera and some remarkable geothermal areas before reaching the stunning east coast. 50 kilometers off the coast of Whakatane sits White Island, an active volcano . After passing this, it is time to head off for a bite to eat. The Landing Cafe, located on the shore of Lake Tarawera, is an ideal spot.
